Most Waggle meetups are lovely. These habits keep them that way — for you and for your pet.
Chat in the app first. Get a feel for the other owner and their pet's energy and play style.
Pick a public, pet-friendly place: a park, a fenced run, an outdoor café patio. Never a private home for a first meetup.
Tell a friend where you're going and when you expect to be back.
Make sure vaccinations are current and bring a leash, water and waste bags.
Introduce pets on leash, side by side, before letting them play off-leash where that's allowed.
Watch body language. Stiff posture, hard staring, raised hackles or tucked tails mean it's time for a break.
Keep the first meeting short — 20 to 30 minutes is plenty.
You can leave at any time, for any reason. You never owe anyone an explanation.
Waggle only ever shows an approximate distance, never your exact location or address.
Keep phone numbers, addresses and payment details out of chat until you genuinely trust someone.
Never send money to another member. Nobody on Waggle should ever ask you for it.
Block the person from their profile or chat — they immediately disappear from your Waggle.
Report them so we can review the account. Reports are private; the other person is not told who filed one.
If anyone is in danger, contact your local emergency services first. For animal-related incidents, contact your local animal control.
